Last year, a new book has been published in St. Petersburg.

The book is made in cooperation with Consulate General of Korea in St. Petersburg, Russia, and introduces the systematized collection of essential primary sources with commentaries on the work of the ambassador and Minister Plenipotentiary of the Korean empire at the court of the Russian emperor – Lee Bomjin (이범진), 1853-1911).

The list of documents presented in this work is not exhaustive, and was compiled based on archive collection located in St. Petersburg. The book contains a number of brand new materials, previously unpublished and not used in scientific literature.

“Brand new materials” are 1) the interview with Korean ambassador that has never been studied before and was given to the Russian press during the Russo-Japanese war; 2) Notes of the detectives who have been following the ambassadors of Korean diplomatic mission.

Interviews presented in this book, as well as the image of Lee Bom Jim (?) (on the cover), were found by S.O. Kurbanov. The notes of the detectives were found by the Doctor of Historical Sciences, The Leading Researcher of RAS, B.B. Pak

Currently the book is being translated into Korean.

A table of contents is available on the publisher’s site.
