The Center for Korean Studies (Institute of Oriental Studies - School of Regional and International Studies, FEFU) is pleased to announce
International Conference “Russia and Korea in the Changing World Order 2017”
 hosted by the Far Eastern Federal University, Institute of Oriental Studies - School of Regional and International Studies (located in Vladivostok, Primorsky Region of Russian Federation) with support of Russian Association of Academic Koreanology.

The conference is organized by Center for Korean Studies and supported by the Core University Program for Korean Studies through the Ministry of Education of the Republic of the Korea and Korean Studies Promotion Service of the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS-2015-OLU-2250003).

The Conference will focus on a broad range of topics related to Korean politics, economy and culture. The Conference organizers invite papers and presentation proposals relevant to theme of the conference. A paper with any of the following or related subjects would be appropriate for presentation:

1. Current issues of Korean Peninsula.
2. Russian-Korean bilateral relations.
3. Korean history and culture.
4. Social-economic development of ROK.

All accepted papers will be published.

Venue and Dates

Venue: Far Eastern Federal University, Russian Federation.

Dates: 18th - 19th May 2017

Presentations and Papers

Organizing Committee welcomes to take part in conference by both presentation and sending a paper. All successful applicants will be expected to give a 15 minute presentationand will have to submit their full paper (not less than 10,000 characters) by 20^th of May 2017.

Working languages of the conference: Organizing Committee decided to accept presentations and papers in Russian, English and Korean languages.

Eligibility and Support

Eligible Applicants: MA students, PhD students, Korean Studies Researchers from Russian and Overseas Universities.

Accommodation: Accommodation in FEFU’s Campus (Russky Island) may be provided to all foreign (nonresident) participants. Please announce if such accommodation is necessary. The cost of in-campus accommodation is approximately 1,000 rubles per day.

Transport: Unfortunately, due to the restricted budget, we are not able to offer any transport grant to participants. Participants are encouraged to seek financial support from their own universities.

3) major area of study (region and discipline)

4) abstract (300 words max.) in print-ready format, including name and institution

You will be sent a confirmation that your application has been received. If you do not receive a confirmation by the 15th of March 2017, please, contact with Organizing Committee by e-mail.
